CSS Preprocessors

HTML and CSS goes side by side when it comes to web development. Earlier there was nothing much we could do to make the CSS coding of website easier. Maintainability and reusuabilty was limited to having CSS broken into multiple files and import them when ever we needed those parts. This was very time consuming and not so elegent method. Now with the help of CSS Preprocessors we have got more control on the CSS.

The two most popular CSS Preprocessors out there are LESS and SASS. These preprocessors give more power to CSS writing by adding ability to use variables, functions, conditions etc. This will help us write less code for styling and get more control over our styles. We can do processing on the styles like minification and auto browser prefixes using the tools which compile these “super charged” CSS files.
